The 6th World Language Festival at IU will kick off virtually in May! WLF has been reimagined for 2021-2022 into a multi-day online celebration of world languages and cultures, including a full day of synchronous live sessions and a collection of asynchronous lessons available from May, 2021 to May 31st, 2022.

- Live sessions: May 15, 2021 9:30 AM-4:50 PM (Passed Event)
- Asynchronous Lessons: available May 15th, 2021-May 31st, 2022
The World Language Festival (WLF) has been hosted by the Center for Language Technology (housed under the College of Arts and Sciences) at the IU Bloomington campus five times since 2009. Offering over 75 languages and 80 overseas study programs, IUB is a world renowned university committed to language study and global cultures. With a persistent theme of “Widen Your World: Learn a Foreign Language,” WLF aims to celebrate the diverse cultures and languages of our world and to showcase the outstanding instruction and language resources at IUB and its surrounding community.
This year (2021), the Center for Language Technology (CeLT) obtains additional support from new collaborators in organizing the IU WLF: the Center for Language Excellence, the Center for the Study of Global Change, and the School of Education’s Global Education Initiatives project. We will host the 6th World Language Festival starting May 15th, 2021. IU WLF is virtual this year and features a combination of pre-recorded instructional lessons, interactive activities, and live lessons. WLF lessons and activity content will be made available in a Canvas course created for this event that is accessible to the general public through free registration with IU Expand. Registration will open soon; please check back for updates.
For K-12 students, educators, parents, college and graduate students, and anyone who aspires to widen their world: all are welcome to participate in this event. Please mark your calendars for May 15th! Registration information will be available on the WLF homepage soon.
