About WLF
The World Language Festival historically was a one-day event usually hosted on a Saturday on Indiana University's Bloomington campus.
After the first WLF event was organized in 2009, the event was offered on the Bloomington campus every two or three years. For many years, the World Language Festival brought together K-12 students from across Indiana, their families, educators, college students, and the general public for a vibrant day of free, live language and culture lessons, musical performances, arts and crafts, exhibitions, and more. Now, the WLF is offered virtually in the form of an ongoing Canvas course, making it accessible to members of the public outside of Indiana, and even worldwide!
We hope the WLF plants a seed in every participant to develop a life-long passion for active learning that will help everyone thrive in the 21st century global economy.
